Raphael Bradshaw is an artist born/raised on the south side of Chicago. Drop the last name, add Mannequinn and you have an artist on a journey.
MIXNORITY: What inspired you to start singing and the name Mannequinn?
RAPHAEL MANNEQUINN: I was inspired to sing by hearing my favorites tell their stories and share their worlds... ala Prince. His magical presence sparked the interest in entertainment for me.
Mannequinn is an acronym meaning Man Against Naturally Naive Empowering Under Incredibly Nude Nirvana. Which basically came from me being on a musical journey and not really being phased by what others have to say while I reach for the stars.
M: You manage a huge portion of your brand, from web designing, writing, and producing. How do you juggle this and your personal life?
As far as my personal life, I think I pretty much intertwine the two. I put so much into trying to work my brand that I don't see a big difference. What you see is what you get, that's how I feel during that time, that's how I look during that moment and that's what I feel makes me different. I may be forever changing, but, it's still all me. Nobody really stays the same more than a day in my opinion.
M: What your muse?
My muse is love. Everything I write about, talk about, visual and speak on is centered around love, some sort of love and the passion that it evokes in the human life. People try to throw dirt on "LOVE" when it doesn't go their way, but, love is so much more than a four letter word.
M: If you couldn't sing anymore what would you do?
If I couldn't sing anymore, I'd definitely try to continue being a writer or a producer. I feel that music is in my blood and I'd never want to be unhappy doing something that means little to me when I feel that music is in my blood.

M: How do you remain possitive in the mist of adversity?
I reply on faith. I believe that faith is such a beautiful entity and with the power of faith anything is possible even when you think nothing is right. It keeps me going and drives me to do better whenever I feel like I'm getting comfortable.
M: When can we expect to hear new music from you?
I'm currently working on a new mixtape as well as my first album/EP. I'm hoping to have a single out by Spring 2012 and the album in Summer 2012. But, these dates are still tentative. I really believe in my new material and I want it to be heard and visualized in the proper way. I hope fans of my music can understand that it has to be right!
M: If someone stole your cellphone what would they find?
If someone stole my phone they'd find a bunch of random voice memos filled with melodies and random lyrics, some nude pics and probably a handful of contacts.
